The National Digital Agency (AND) is in charge of articulating digital citizen services in Colombia. As a project professional, I have the privilege of working at this institution and contributing to the development of these services that aim to improve citizens’ lives.
The three digital citizen services are: Digital Citizen Folder, Digital Authentication, and Interoperability.
The Digital Citizen Folder (Carpeta Ciudadana Digital) in Colombia, is an online system that allows citizens to perform digital procedures, avoiding displacements and streamlining processes. Procedures such as professional registration queries, certificates of validity and disciplinary records, digital professional registration, legalizations, conciliation acts, residence certificates, labor certificates, and resume queries can be performed. Each procedure has a responsible entity, which varies depending on the type of procedure.

Digital Authentication is a procedure that allows validating a person’s digital attributes.
Finally, Interoperability aims to ensure that digital citizen services are compatible with each other, so that citizens can access them easily and without having to create different profiles or accounts. The interoperability platform used within digital citizen services in Colombia is X-Road.
For me, working at AND has been a unique opportunity to contribute to improving the quality of life of citizens, by developing digital citizen services that facilitate access to public services and improve efficiency in managing these services. Additionally, this agency also promotes innovation, inclusion, and transparency. Working at AND is a pride for me, as I can contribute to building a fairer and more equitable country.
